Susie Cooper (1902-1995) was one of the leading female British ceramic designers of the 20th century. She joined Gray's Pottery in 1922. Her talent as a designer blossomed and she founded Susie Cooper Pottery in 1930. In 1940, she was recognized as a designer for the British Royal Family. In 1979, she was awarded the Order of the British Empire.
