小鹿田焼の手仕事が感じられる平皿。

小鹿田焼の伝統技法のひとつ、刷毛目の意匠が施されています。

グレーに白の刷毛目模様、リムの飴釉がアクセントになっています。深さもあるので汁物麺ものなど取り皿にも使いやすいデザイン。焼き菓子やフルーツを盛り付けるのにもおすすめです。

小鹿田焼は、桃山時代（16 世紀末）に渡来した朝鮮人陶工によって伝えられ、小石原窯（現福岡県朝倉郡東峰村）を経て、現在の大分県日田市大字鶴河内字皿山に伝えられたものと言われています。開窯から300有余年、当時からの技法を受け継ぎ窯を守ってきています。小鹿田焼の里では、現在９軒の窯元が家族労働のみで作陶を行い、江戸時代から変わらぬ伝統的技法と伝統を守り続けています。小鹿田焼は、平成７（1995）年に国の重要無形文化財に指定されました

This flat plate showcases the handcrafted craftsmanship of Onta ware.

It features a brushstroke design, one of Onta ware's traditional techniques.

The gray background with a white brushstroke pattern and the amber glaze on the rim add accents. Its depth makes it ideal for serving soups and noodles. It's also recommended for serving baked goods and fruit.

Onta ware is said to have been introduced by Korean potters who arrived in Japan during the Momoyama period (late 16th century). It passed through Koishiwara Kiln (now Toho Village, Asakura District, Fukuoka Prefecture) and then to Sarayama, Tsurukawachi, Hita City, Oita Prefecture. Over 300 years after its opening, the kiln has continued to preserve its techniques and preserve its original form. Currently, nine potteries in Onta ware Village produce pottery entirely through family labor, preserving the traditional techniques and traditions that date back to the Edo period. Onta ware was designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan in 1995.
