ミントンのハドンホールは、1948年、デザイナーのジョン・ワズワースが、イングランドの古城ハドンホールのタペストリーからヒントを得て誕生したミントンの中でも最も有名なシリーズです。パッションフラワーやパンジーなどの花が図案的に描かれた総柄で、約12色と色使いも多彩。ミントンはもちろん他のメーカーのものと比べても際立った個性を放っています。器のボディには波うつような「ファイフ・シェイプ」が採用されています。

“トレリス”とは、ツル植物をはわせるための格子状の生垣のことで、ハドンホールの花柄のまわりに生垣が描かれたシリーズです。リム周辺に格子模様が追加されることによって、落ち着いた雰囲気に仕上がっています。グリーンとブルーの2色のカラーバリエーションがありますが、こちらはグリーンのお品になります。

ミントンは、銅版転写の彫刻師だったトーマス・ミントンによって1793年に創業されました。その後二代目のハーバート・ミントンによって生産性・芸術性が大きく高められ、大きく飛躍しました。ミントンは豪華に金彩を施した食器を数々生み出し、1840年、ビクトリア女王より賞賛されるまでになりました。戦後になるとミントンは、金彩を施したシリーズから一変し、1948年、デザイナーのジョン・ワズワースがハドンホール城の壁画をヒントにした「ハドンホール」を発表し、ミントンの永遠の定番品として、その名を世界に知られるようになったのです。

Minton's Haddon Hall series is Minton's most famous, created in 1948 by designer John Wadsworth, inspired by the tapestries of Haddon Hall, an ancient castle in England. Featuring a stylized all-over pattern of passionflowers, pansies, and other flowers, the series offers a diverse range of approximately 12 colors. Its distinctive design stands out not only among Minton but also among other manufacturers. The vessels feature a wavy "fife" shape.

A "trellis" is a lattice-like hedge used for climbing plants, and this series features a hedge pattern around the Haddon Hall floral pattern. The addition of a lattice pattern around the rim creates a calm atmosphere. It comes in two color variations, green and blue, and this is the green version.

Minton was founded in 1793 by copperplate engraver Thomas Minton. Later, under the second-generation founder, Herbert Minton, the company's productivity and artistic excellence were greatly enhanced, resulting in a major leap forward. Minton produced a wide range of lavishly gold-plated tableware, even receiving praise from Queen Victoria in 1840. After the war, Minton made a complete transition from its gold-plated series, and in 1948, designer John Wadsworth introduced "Haddon Hall," inspired by the murals at Haddon Hall Castle. This timeless Minton classic made the brand known worldwide.
